The season gos something like this June is off to a pleasant slow start with  Doggy Olympics. July 4th is pyrotechnic insanity and it builds from there with festivals like , Sandsations, Kite Festival, Rodeo my birthday party etc. This all comes to a head the weekend after Labor Day with Rod Run. I know it is hard to believe but some of the locals don’t partake in the revelry but the ones who do throw weekend long end of the season Rod Run blow out parties. Rod Run brings about 1300 classic cars to the Beach Barons field in Ocean Park  10 mi. north of Long Beach it also brings in uncountable amounts of classics just cursing that 10mi. stretch for 3 glorious days of classic car heaven. To me  the combination small beach town cruising classics and people having a great time gives me a little American Graffiti feeling inside.
