the 4th Annual Jake the Alligator Man 75th Birthday
Posted By Jake's Party Planner on August 6, 2010
We tried something new this year we thought Jake takes a bride every year why not throw him Bachelor Party in a ol skool lodge with a bar and a mirror ball to set the stage. The show opened with The Emerald Dollies from Seattle good old fashioned glamorous burlesque, Bitsi Rini and Lulu Bell both absolutely gorgeous talented and lovely creatures.
at the end of their first act the Bride of Jake 2009 Miss Becky Lee popped out of a giant pink Lucky Cupcake she looked every bit the lovely bachelor party surprise. We finished up the burlesque with The Rose City Shimmy, staring Hae Fleisch, Itty Bitty Bang Bang, Charlotte Treuse and veterans to the Jake party Baby Le’Strange and Meghan Mayhem these two girls have been with Jake from the get go for better or worse. Delvis was the MC the bar keep was Jamie Lynn and the siren Sisters served the cocktails.
Jake the Alligator Man his self made a surprise appearance with owners David Marsh and his mother Marion Marsh wife of Wellington Marsh founder and visionary behind the museum. You never know when the real Jake may appear so that was a big bonus for us fans he had his photo taken with many admirers. We are happy to bask in the glory of Stunt Jake but there really is nothing like the real thing for us true fans.
I must make mention here that an appearance was made Matt the Tube Crowley he was a member of the Jim Rose Circus Side Show, this was a particular thrill to me because I have been a fan since the early 90′s. He did show up for the next days events also, go Jake!

Matt the Tube with Myself Missy & Joy all three of us girls made this happen, couldn not have done it with out them.
FYI – can you tell I hate to get my photo taken
Day two the Birthday party Car Show and what has become a corner stone of the event the Bride of Jake Pinup Contest. My day started with having to go to the previous nights venue to clean up any left over remnants then heading to the field to set up the registration table and a place for the Pin Up Angels , Vintage Roadside and Harmons Pinstriping to set up.
I drove on the field and promptly got my truck stuck in the sand that was left over from the previous event. I screamed then had the fantastic Monica dig me out while I took care of other business. I knew this was not good but figured we would just have to work around it, so we did.
Every year the lucky folks who register their cars for this show get a signed numbered art piece (dash Plaque or rear view mirror hangar) for their car made by Max Skull Clown and a chance to win the most coveted car show award in the world a one of a kind piece t by none other than William Bivins of My Dementia. No mass produced junk here it’s about DIY and made in the Pacific North West.
I do gush about Vintage Roadside the t – shirt creators for the event but they deserve all the props they get all of the artists involved in the event are hand picked by me and I love and trust them all, they obviously understand my vision for the event and are fans of Jake.
On to entertainment, first up Angie and the Car Wrecks a great band with a smokin hot fire cracker of a singer Angie, what a cutie and funny to boot. Angie was also a contestant in the pinup contest and held her own with her witty ad lib.
I will make a brief mention here about the fact that we were promised a working PA but did not receive one so we had to make shift with amps and heads and what ever else. Thankfully Drag Strip Riot travel with technical support and Rock n Roll attitudes I greatly appreciate all the help. The monkey business with the PA pretty much sent any kind of a schedule we had into a tail spin.
Drag Strip Riot these guys tore it up I cant say enough about what a great show they put on and really got people primed and pumped up for the Pinup Contest.
Dingo Dizmal Olive Root Beer and Uncle Jay provided the Circus Side show flavor that sets this event apart from all the rest. A bug eating contest, human levitation and Dingo chomping on a light bulb always a favorite. I love the way Dingo wraps up the night with a spin through town on his tall bike streaming fireworks behind him.
Oh the Pinup contest 10 gorgeous women competed to be Jake’s bride. I am always floored by the women who turn out to become the bride of this scaly creature. The winner is Olga and Elsa Siamese twins (Mishalla DeGagne & Cara Mia) the brides maid is Charlotte Truese who last year had a pickled punk baby Jake, she returned this year with a toddler baby Jake and the DNA results proving paternity. This is such a big part of the day it deserves it’s own blog. (Coming soon)
Next up East Side Speed Machine I love this band. Formerly the Flapjacks I have a soft spot for these guys we go way back, way…… way back. This was my first time seeing them with the new base player Dan Valadez, he did them justice, would have made Steve Casmano (R.I.P.) proud. I will never get board seeing this band perform.
We wrapped up the evening with another round of Burlesque. The line up of girls for Jake’s party is brilliant all of the girls are dazzling shining stars in my book and create magic on the stage.
Speaking of Magic Emily Rinhard needs special mention due to all the technical failures by the time the burlesque went on our MC had hit the wall Delvis had left the building. This left me to host the burlesque. I will say it here and now hand me a microphone watch a train wreck. I have been around bands more than 1/2 my life I want no part of the limelight I would never carry a guitar into a club and preferred to enter the club alone rather than be anywhere near the band. Enter Emily she saw me struggling jumped in and made the show a success, I do believe she was made for the stage, I owe her a debit of gratitude and do hope she will accept my invitation to return for a encore performance as our Burlesque MC next year. Emily and Dottie Diamond make up Famous Eye Productions EVERYONE!! needs Famous Eyed.
Jake would like make a special thank you to Joy and Missy with out them this would not be possible. The Long Beach Merchants Association for backing this endeavor in the face of controversy (this town needs edgy now and then). Mark Winnie couldn’t have done it with out your muscle and positive attitude, Dianne selling and cleaning, Theresa setting up the bar. Monica and Kate (Brides Maid of Jake 2009) Thank you for everything and for looking stunning while doing it. Monica huge thank you for the shovel wielding Saturday am and music Saturday night. All the people who helped clean up Friday night I know most of you but many of you just pitched in and saved my bacon. Rick Loften for PA shuffling. John, Eric, Gary and Tim, I know I put you all to work at some point. Over all I am very pleased with the way it played out I learned allot and I know I have great people with me weather your in the crowd or on the stage. Ask Emily sometimes you start as a audience member and end it on stage. Anything can happen at this show.
THANK YOU ALL!!!!! See you next year.

BIG KUDOS to Wendy, Del and all involved. A lot of hard work went into putting the event together, and mostly un- and barely paid, too! Every performer, planner, artist and car show participant clearly has their hearts in this production and we’re lucky to have you come out to play in Long Beach.
THANKS to the Long Beach Merchants Association and the City of Long Beach for sponsoring this carnival of a birthday bash and a shout out to Long Beach City Planner Gayle Borchard, who conceived of and executed Jake’s first 75th Birthday Party. May the Mayor of Lamont, WA, remain in your shadow .
