The Other Flavel House
I have been fascinated by this house ever since the day I happened to drive by. I stopped my car immediately and went right up the stairs leading from the street. The yard is massively overgrown with blackberries along with a impressive hydrangea and other plantings that would have been from the original land scape. I was with my mom and as we picked our way around I saw a light burning in the down stairs window that scared the crap out of me and I left asap mom was ready to knock on the door.
A year later Madam Talbot who I follow religiously posted a blog exposing the mystery of the home and who the owners are and were. They say truth is stranger than fiction well this homes story does not disappoint the story is as grand as the home its self. It was owned by Hatchet Harry Flavel and is still owned by his sister I will stop here and add links to Madam Talbot’s posts on the home and the Flavels. Madam Talbots Victorian Lowbrow is a treat I encourage anyone who finds them self reading this to check her out you will be very glad you did.

I went there about 3 weeks ago, my son climbed in this very cool window that was open and took some pictures I just want a peek the house is full, and we think we got a picture of a ghost an old man in a suit by the window . He was scared so he left quickly, I plan on going back alone and somehow get in and look the house must of been somethig else
he took pictures of a ladies bedroom pink flowered wallpaper and the bed covers were drawn back like someone just got up, and he took picture of the living room but they came out blurry, mail is till there from 1982 books eveywhere, what he could see is just like they left, I could see up the stairs and there are stuffed book cases’ it was very cool cannot wait to do a b and e won’t take anything no bad jojoo for me
I was at the house 3 weeks ago and have pics of the inside, it is full, my son climbed threw an open cool old window and took some photos, he was scared so he didn’t stay, anyway he got a shot of a womans bedroom pink flower wallpaper the bed by the window, beautiful, books everywhere, we zoomed on the bookcase and some of the books are from 1892. He took shots from the stairs and they came out blurry but the house is fulllllll of old things, mail still there by the door, its like they just took off anyway, I’m going back and gonna do my first b and e just to look not take no bad joojoo for me. Also in a pic it looks like a man in a brown suit and hes pretty tall could it be a ghost? If I knew how I would put the pics on line we can zoom and stuff and see better. The womans bedroom is a wreck but the bed looks like someone just got up and left.

oooo I would love to see the photos. Be careful I know the neighbors keep a close eye on the place in fear of squatters and a fire.
