The Worlds Largest Chopsticks!
Posted By Jake's Party Planner on September 8, 2010
I have been pretty quiet since the 75th birthday shindig, we can just call it recovering from all the fun and games. I Thought you all might like to know Long Beach now lays claim to the Worlds Largest Chopsticks yes we do. Zhuang Zhao (Jon-Jon) made them for his senior project. The Worlds Largest Chopsticks are now parked in front of Marsh’s Free Museum taking the place of the ancient wagon that once crossed the prairie states on the Oregon Trail. I have no idea what happened to that crumbling relic, there are many treasures in storage at the Museum the remains may be in the treasure trove of storage now?
If you will please note in the background of the above photo is what appears to be a man ready to jump from the roof. This is actually a stuffed ape it replaces the giant Jake the Alligator Man that once looked down upon the Museums patrons as they entered the building. Sadly one of our ferocious storms took out what was left of the crumbling Styrofoam Jake. Word on the street is when he was found on the ground his head was missing. I would simply love to know who the proud new owner of this piece is if you or anyone you know has a clue please do tell I want to know what they have done with it. I would have it mounted and hung above the fireplace if I had it.
Below is the poor Jake that blew off in the surprise 100 MPH wind storm on November 22, 2009
So there you have it that’s what’s new at the museum, now we brace our self’s for Rod Run this weekend. I fear the Chopsticks will be the best seat on the strip for oogling hot rods any of you who dare use them for a bench I hope you bring home a nice sliver in your butt as a souvenir.
